Introduction
This articulation lists the top crypto exchanges by trading volumes, based on the publicly available trading data on Coinmarketcap and Coingecko. The prices listed are the default charges (the maximum you will pay without any discount or tiering system). Some exchanges do offer a flat rate for both maker of the deal and the taker, others do not. This is also reflected in the table.
Where discounts are available for a particular exchange, this is reflected in the Remark column in the table, also a general overview of the tier system fee is indicated in the same column. While this list is not a complete list, it does give an overview of what to expect when you are making a choice on which exchange to use based on the sole criteria of trading fees.

Maker Fee
Maker fee is the fee that is charged by the exchange when you create a Limit order, that is the limit order that is entered into the order book. For example, if bitcoin sells at $30,000, you could set your price as $29,900, this is entered into the order book, it is cannot be filled immediately, someone has to “take” the order. if picked (or filled by the taker), you pay maker fee. A maker provides liquidity to the exchange, and as such the maker fee is usually lower.
Taker Fee
Taker fee is the fee that is charged by the exchange when you take an existing limit order from the exchange order book (executed immediately). It is the fee that is charged when you remove liquidity from the exchange’s order book by creating a market order. The taker fee is usually higher than the maker fee since it removes liquidity from the exchange.
Conclusions
When choosing a crypto exchange, the trading fee of the exchange should be a priority as it can impact your profitability significantly. The table above is a simple table showing the exchanges and the trading fees they charge. It would help if you also took advantage of discounts where they are applicable, such as using the native token of the exchange as payment for trading fees.
